Sewing
Seeds
Note:
After building 58 quilt tops for Quilts of Valour - Canada
and Children's Aid as well as 12 texture quilts for dimentia
sufferers, Sewing Seeds is taking a summer break from regular
meetings as we work to finish the 15 or so that remain to
be quilted. Thanks to all members whose presence made this
year so enjoyable as well as productive and a special thanks
to our supporters throughout Canada whose donations and
nurturing helped make this all possible.
The
purpose of Sewing Seeds ministry is to share, in a welcoming
and friendly environment, our joy of sewing with all: ourselves,
our communities and beyond. Amen. If you want to learn
how to sew or quilt, Sewing seeds meets in the kitchen at
91 Bruce Street on Monday afternoons from 1:00 to 3:30.
We work on quilts for the Quilts of Valour - Canada initiative:
providing quilts to the returning wounded brave men and
women of our Armed Forces. We are also stitching lap quilts
for local long-term care facilities and several more for
the Children's Aid Society in Simcoe.
Everyone
is welcome as we stitch through the Year. For more information
call Jim at 519-770-3580 or Rita at 519-426-4924. If you
want to help make blocks for the quilts you can download
the simple 9-patch directions here.
