Susan's
Ordination to the Deaconate

After
an intensive year of University studies to complete her
academic requirements and examinations, our Pastor, and
now Rev. Susan Zakamarko, was ordained to the Deaconate
at a stirring service held during the recent clergy retreat
in Toledo, Ohio. Bishop Sandy Greene also ordained Rev.
Joe Boysel of Grace Church in Circleville, OH as a priest
at the same service.
We congratulate
Susan on her accomplishments and joyfully anticipate her
ministry among us. We especially look forward to working
with her as we strive together to grow God's kingdom here
in Southern Ontario.
The
congregation of St. Barnabas greatly appreciates the encouragement
and support we have received from the Anglican Coalition
in Canada (ACiC), and the Anglican Mission in the Americas
(AMiA) HONA Network. Without their help it would have been
impossible for us to move ahead as quickly as we have.

Fr.
Fariborz Khandani preaching on God's grace from the book

On
Sunday, July 27th, 5:00 p.m. we welcomed Fr. Fariborz Khandani
as our guest Preacher and Celebrant. A light meal and fellowship
time with Fr. Khandani and his family was followed by a
Kenyan Eucharistic Rite service at 7:00 p.m.
Fr.
Khandani was born in Iran and converted to Christ when he
was a teen. He immigrated to Canada 16 years ago and upon
arriving to Canada, obeyed the call of God on his life.
He was ordained in the diocese of Toronto. He left the diocese
of Toronto in 2003. Fariborz has been working with sat7
for the past two years, mainly teaching systematic theology
for the leadership of the underground church of Iran. He
is currently finalizing details for reception into the ACiC
/ AMiA.
He is married to Shirin, who is also from an Episcopal background.
Shirin and Fariborz have two children, Maryam and Cyrus
who are 6 and 4.
